Self-Publishing: Your Voice Matters

Many potentially successful self-published authors
languish, doubting the reading public's need or desire for
what could have been offered. To these people I offer my most
sincere encouragement: Write it! Self-publish it! Hopefully
with us here at delPrado Press, although that is entirely
secondary to getting your work offered where it is available
to the public.
Consider the potential impact of your work in
as positive a light as possible: Even if, IF, nobody ever
reads it besides you, the act of having written it, and having
had the courage to offer it, mean something. You've changed
one life (your own), and have created the potential to change
many more!
Criticism? Mere words. What you have available
within you to offer is there and you are here now for the
express purpose of getting it written, getting it published,
and doing so in your own unique voice. To assume that we could predict
what effects your work may have in the future would be a
terrible hubris, yet hoping that work will have some
beneficial result is the impetus for doing it. Somewhere,
someone needs to read what you have within you to write, and
needs to read it as it was written by you, because it won't mean the
same coming from anybody else.
Whether it's a matter of timing, access, or methodology,
your voice matters!
